About Jules

Making others look good—online, on paper, on social, and in person—has been my specialty for nearly two decades.

Born a farmer’s daughter in Illinois, I did time in East Nashville and Indy’s Mass Ave before hitting the Oregon Trail in 2009. I landed in California in 2021. It was160+ years after the gold rush ended, but I loved discovering a momentum of innovation and resilience still going strong. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and am also a former licensed esthetician.

I work behind the scenes with clients from messy startups to global brands. Across steady B2B networks and fast-changing B2C markets, I handle customer experience (CX) design work to sustain (or in many cases, supercharge) business growth.

I worked with some of the world’s most recognized brands including the Swoosh + the Three Stripes before bringing that innovative spirit to commercial real estate where I helped pioneer the first technology enabling crowdfunded investing + AI chat tools. I'm the first in my family line to become an investor in institutional-grade multifamily assets. In recent years I’ve been among the first creative directors in the U.S. to specialize in AI search optimization.

I’m a rare mix of big-picture visionary + down-in-the-details nerd with a knack for making really complicated $#!t simple, and it’s earned me calls from national media and panelist invites in the areas of information design and fintech/proptech.

My work has been published in college textbooks and recognized by the Los Angeles Times and GlobeSt Women of Influence.

I founded Vermillion Design in March 2009 with the intention of always keeping creative collaborations alive, whether as a hobby or as part- to full-time freelance work. I know owners don’t hand over their business babies lightly. My "+ Co." helpers are trusted, vetted colleagues working with the same fractional CMO/CXO mindset.

When I’m not immersed in projects, I’m probably strumming guitar or playing piano, hanging upside down in aerial dance class, or hiking through unusual places like 80,000-year-old lava tubes and 30-million-year-old fossil beds.

If our paths cross, whether in business, at the beach, or on a backcountry trail, I hope you’ll walk away feeling lighter + brighter. I value every chance to connect and never take a meeting for granted.

Behind the name, since people always ask…

"Vermillion" is a brilliant, fiery red color with a hint of orange.

I happen to be a brilliant, fiery red(head) based in Orange (County), California. ◡̈
